Dr. Tom Carlos
Thomas Carlos, DVM MS, otherwise known as “Dr. Tom” graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1985, then obtained his Masters Degree in Surgery and Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Carlos did an internship at the American Animal Hospital in Chicago.
In 1990, he opened his first veterinary practice in the Florida panhandle and has since opened and maintained several veterinary hospitals throughout the state. He is an avid tennis player, fisherman, diver and Doggie Dad to Zoe & Darla.
Dr. Laurie Aleixo
Laurie Aleixo DVM graduated from UC Davis in 1999. She owned her clinic in California for 14 years, before moving to Florida. She enjoys working with all animals, working part-time with Harbor Branch, as the on-call veterinarian for cetacean strandings. She also volunteers for FWC with the rescue and release of manatees. She currently has 3 rescue dogs, but at one point she had 8 dogs, 2 cats, fish, and a squirrel. She is an avid scuba diver, paddle boarder and loves spending time with her husband and 2 sons.
JoAnna is also known to many as Jo and has worked in the veterinary industry since 2016. Starting her career as a Receptionist, she worked her way to being a Manager before joining our hospital over a year ago. She has Pitbull/Cur Mix dog named Bronx, a Domestic Short Hair Tabby cat named Crash and a black Domestic Short Hair cat named Haze.
Her favorite part of the job is meeting new people and getting to know their furry family members. JoAnna was born and raised in the area and enjoys going to the beach, cooking and spending time with her family when she is not busy at work.
Brianna has been in the veterinary industry for over 2 years. She has a Labrador Mix named Sadie May, a Maine Coon cat named Buddy and a Dachshund named Jake. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with so many different animals in many different situations. When she is not busy at work, Brianna enjoys going to the beach, adventures with her dogs and spending time with her daughter.
Rachel has been in the veterinary industry for about a year. She has 2 French Bulldogs named Chapo and Esco, and a Domestic Short Hair cat named Beerus. Her favorite part of the job is working towards improving the wellness of the patients, bonding with clients and their pets, and being very understanding when it comes to wanting what is best for your fur baby.
Izabel has been in the veterinary industry for over 3 years. She has a Pitbull/Catahoula Mix dog named Blue, a Labrador dog named Faith, 2 Turtles named Bean and Tomato and 3 Pug dogs named Sui, Lui and Chui. Her favorite part of the job is getting to spend the whole day using her knowledge and passion for the industry when interacting directly with the animals and their owners.
Diana has been in the veterinary industry since 2011, after attending a veterinary assisting course at Orange Technical College Westside Campus in Winter Garden, FL. She recently moved to Fort Pierce from Ocoee, FL. She has a Chihuahua dog named Nala, a Birman Ragdoll Mix cat named Luna and a Domestic Short Hair Tabby cat named Loki. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help improve the quality of life for patients and making sure owners have happy, healthy pets for many years.
Monica has been in the veterinary industry since 2013. She has a retired thoroughbred racehorse named Maximus King, an Appaloosa Quarterhorse name Cocoa, an American Bulldog named Precious and 3 Domestic Short Hair Cats named Sophiers, Olivia and Oscar.
Animals play a huge part in her life. Maximus King was her Birthday present from her husband and he is the love of her life. She says they say you don’t choose the animal they choose you and that Max chose her after being pastured for 8 years because no one wanted a horse that couldn’t jump. Max stole her heart the first day she set eyes on him and he is the biggest baby.
Breanna has been in the veterinary industry for over a year. She has a Catahoula Hound/German Shepard Mix dog named Marley, a Bombay cat named Binx and two Ferrets named Daisy and Bandit.
Her favorite part of the job is improving the lives of animals in the community and learning something new every day. When she is not busy at work, Breanna enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her son.
Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT)
Kelly has been in the veterinary industry for over a year. She has an American Bully dog named Helmet, a Labrador/Pitbull Mix dog named Hailey and 2 Domestic Short Hair cats named Holly and Brave. She also has 2 snakes, a Kenyan Sand Boa and Western Hognose.
Chanel is our groomer with over 21 years of experience. She loves making fur babies and their owners happy with beautiful grooms.
Victoria has been a Veterinary Assistant since 2015 and graduated in 2018 from Miami Dade College with an Associates in Science in Veterinary Technology. She has a Lab/Curr Mix dog named Flynn and a Dwarf Hamster named Jelly. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with clients and their pets. When she is not busy at work, Victoria enjoys eating, cooking for her friends and spending time with family.
