Dr. Jean Hedges

Dr. Jean Hedges is Prima Vista Animal Hospital’s full time Veterinarian. She has been in the veterinarian field for 20 years. Dr. Hedges graduate from Louisiana State University and just moved to Florida this year of 2014. Her fur babies include Jeddy and Marty which are Rottweiler’s, Darcy a Beagle/Dachshund mix, Rocco a Chow/Shar Pei mix, and Jerry a Basenji.

Dr. Tom Carlos

Thomas Carlos, DVM MS, otherwise known as “Dr. Tom” graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1985, then obtained his Masters Degree in Surgery and Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Carlos did an internship at the American Animal Hospital in Chicago.

In 1990, he opened his first veterinary practice in the Florida panhandle and has since opened and maintained several veterinary hospitals throughout the state. He is an avid tennis player, fisherman, diver and Doggie Dad to Zoe & Darla.

Dr. Megan Petroff

Dr. Megan Petroff has been in the veterinary industry for over 12 years. Her favorite part of the job is puppy and kitten exams, because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. “It is the perfect time to start them out on the right foot with good preventive care, including tooth brushing. A good puppy/kitten exam helps set them up for a healthy, happy life,” says Dr. Petroff! She has two dogs named Tico and Ginger, and Tico actually came from Costa Rica! Dr. Petroff also speaks Spanish, having spent time in Spain and Costa Rica.


Barbara Bradford with Smokey

Barbara is Prima Vista Animal Hospitals Office Manager. She has been managing this hospital for two years now since it has opened in October of 2012. Barbara has worked in the Veterinarian industry for 24 years now as a CVT. Her fur babies include Duchess a 4 year old Rottweiler, Raisin, Drama, Baby, Keepurr and Poetry Man (Persians).

“I enjoy using my Technical skills from time to time and educating clients on preventive health and care. As a manager I enjoy sharing my experience and leadership skills to facilitate a well-rounded team and enjoy the challenges that each day brings and the need for more education as I evolve in this field.”

“I enjoy caring for my four legged flat faces and showing them in CFA. I also enjoy spending my spare time with my husband Reed, and 2 children Ashley and Garrett. On my spare time I enjoy lazy days on the beach, boating and fishing.”




Jennifer is one of Prima Vista Animal Hospitals front Desk Receptionist. She has worked in the Veterinarian industry on and off for the past 15 years. She has been with Prima Vista Animal Hospital for about two years now. Her fur baby is a ferret named Moto.

“My favorite part of my job is meeting all of the pets that come in and I love doing paperwork…(Odd I know! L.O.L!) In my spare time I ride dirt bikes, ATVS and jet skis, so if you ever come in and see me in a cast this is why. L.O.L!”



Technician Assistant

Candice is an animal lover that looks forward to a long career in the veterinary field. She has a cat named Houdini, a Golden Retriever named Buddy, a German Shepherd name Riley, and a mix breed named Stella.



Tanya Orten has been in the veterinary industry for 10 years. Her favorite part of the job is caring for animals in a medical and emotional capacity. She has many pets, including a mixed breed named Sadi, a DSH named Fiji, a chihuahua named Flaco, a DSH named Soy Sauce, a pit mix named Bella, a boston terrier named Tyson, a persian named Cirrus, and 2 snakes.


Kennel Assistant

Roxanne enjoys spending her time with her grandkids & family cookouts. She has a big family that keeps her busy. She has been in the veterinary industry for four years, bathing, preping, cleaing, nail trims, & booking appointments. Her favorite part of the job is helping the animals and gaining more experience. She owns a Labradoodle named Blackjack. She loves to spend time grooming animals and outdoor activites.

Ashley Smith


Ashley has been in the veterinary industry for over five years. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help people by providing care for their pets. She has three cats, Leo a Maine Coon mix, Lea a domestic medium, and Luna a Domestic short hair.

Lorren Nichols

Veterinary Technician

Lorren has been working the the veterinary industry for 2 years. She has a Lab mix names Bear and a Boxer mix named Silvia. She loves working with animals of different species. She also enjoys the felling that the family pet goes home healthy. She is currently working on becoming a certified veterinary technician.

Krystal Misner

Technician Assistant

Krystal has been in the veterinary industry for over three years. She enjoys working with the fur babies and making her clients and patients happy. She has a Doberman named Bailey, a Pit Bull named Karma, and a cat named Belle.

Michaela Montpetit


Michaela has been in the veterinary industry for over 3 years. Her favorite part of the job is surgery. Her pets include: Cruella (Hairless Chinese Crested), Denali (Husky/Akita Mix), Delilah (Black Mouth Cur), Izzy (Chihuahua), and Dexter (Chihuahua).

Shannen Marchu


Shannen has been in the veterinary industry since 2016 and loves working with animals and their owners. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help clients be knowledgeable enough to take the best care of their pets. She currently has an American Cocker Spaniel, Nala, who was given to her as a college graduation present. She has always had a passion for animals both exotic and domestic. Shannen earned her Bachelors degree in zoology and she also interned at a zoo working with mammals in 2014.
