Dr. Tom Carlos

Thomas Carlos, DVM MS, otherwise known as “Dr. Tom” graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1985, then obtained his Masters Degree in Surgery and Medicine from Auburn University. Dr. Carlos did an internship at the American Animal Hospital in Chicago.

In 1990, he opened his first veterinary practice in the Florida panhandle and has since opened and maintained several veterinary hospitals throughout the state. He is an avid tennis player, fisherman, diver and Doggie Dad to Zoe & Darla.


Dr. Laurie Aleixo

Laurie Aleixo DVM graduated from UC Davis in 1999. She owned her clinic in California for 14 years, before moving to Florida. She enjoys working with all animals, working part-time with Harbor Branch, as the on-call veterinarian for cetacean strandings. She also volunteers for FWC with the rescue and release of manatees. She currently has 3 rescue dogs, but at one point she had 8 dogs, 2 cats, fish, and a squirrel. She is an avid scuba diver, paddle boarder and loves spending time with her husband and 2 sons.


Barbara and Duchess

Hospital Manager

Barbara has been managing this hospital for six years now since it has opened in October of 2012. Barbara has worked in the veterinary industry for 29 years now as a CVT. Her fur babies include Duchess a 9-year-old Rottweiler, Baby, Keepurr, Letty and Poetry Man (Persians). Not to forget Hobo (DSH) rescue cat.

“I enjoy using my Technical skills from time to time and educating clients on preventive health and care. As a manager, I enjoy sharing my experience and leadership skills to facilitate a well-rounded team and enjoy the challenges that each day brings and the need for more education as I evolve in this field.”

“I enjoy caring for my four-legged flat faces ( Persians) and showing them in CFA”. I also enjoy spending my spare time outdoors golfing, lazy days on the beach, boating, and fishing. I also enjoy watching sports and Family dinners on Sunday.



JoAnna has worked in the veterinary industry since 2016. Her favorite part of the job is meeting new people and getting to know their furry family members! She has 3 pets: Bronx, a Cur Hound mix; Crash, a tabby DSH; and Haze, a black DSH.


Brianna joined the team in 2017 and has enjoyed gaining experience with us. Her favorite part of the job is interacting with so many different animals in so many different situations.

She has a Lab mix named Sadie May and a Maine Coon named Buddy. She loves to go to the beach and go on adventures with her puppers.


Kennel Assistant
Izabel has been in the Veterinary Industry since 2017. Her favorite part of the job is building a relationship with the animals. Izabel has an 8-year-old yellow lab named Faith and a 7-month-old Pitbull Catahoula named Blue.


Diana has been in the veterinary industry since 2011, after attending a veterinary assisting course at Orange Tech (Westside Campus) in Winter Garden, FL. Her favorite part of the job is being able to help improve the quality of life for patients and making sure owners have happy, healthy pets for many years. She recently moved to Fort Pierce from Ocoee, FL.


Monica has been in the veterinary industry since 2014. Her favorite part of the job is working with happy and loving animals all day long.

She has a retired thoroughbred racehorse named Maximus King, an Appaloosa Quarterhorse named Cocoa, an American Bulldog named Precious, and three domestic shorthair cats names Mister, Olivia, & Oscar.

Animal plays a huge part in her life.  She will do anything in her power to help them.  Her horse Maximus King is the biggest baby ever.  He acts more like a dog than a horse.


Jennifer is new to the veterinary industry. Her favorite part of the job is having animals around her all day and interacting with the welfare of everyone’s mans best friend.

She has a Domestic Shorthair cat named Miley. She also has two dogs; a mini poodle names Chickie and Jack Russell named Pig.


Kennel Assistant
Breanna is new to the industry. Her favorite part of the job is improving the lives of animals and meeting so many different animal personalities. She has a Catahoula hound named Marley, a Bombay cat named Binx, and two Ferrets, Bandit & Daisy.

She enjoys spending her free time at the beach and fostering animals.



Kelly has been in the Veterinary Industry for one year. Her favorite part of the job is helping recover sick animals and seeing their full transformation. She has several pets; an 8-yr-old American bully named Helmet, a 3-year-old Lab/Pit mix, named Hailey, a 2-year-old domestic shorthair cat, named Holly, and a 1-year-old domestic shorthair named Brave. She also has a Kenyan sand boa and a western hognose.

Victoria has been a veterinary assistant since 2015. Her favorite part of the job is providing knowledge so that patients can have better, longer lives. She has several pets; a black lab/curr hound mix named Flynn, 2 dwarf hamsters named Peanut Butter and Jelly. She graduated in 2018 from Miami Dade College with an Associates in Science in Veterinary Technology.
